BaseLok Geocell is a high-density, polyethylene, three-dimensional matrix of cells that impede lateral movement of infill materials such as angular rock, concrete, and soil. The Geocell confines and stabilizes infill to solve stabilization challenges such as preventing erosion on channel slopes exposed to intermittent and continuous flows; protecting geomembranes on containment ponds, dams and landfills; and stabilizing infill for access roads or other applications requiring load support. 3D Cellular Confinement is a permanent solution for many erosion control and reinforcement applications

BaseLok Geocells are a great option where base reinforcement is needed. Because geocells excel in confining material to the cells, this typically allows for the reduction of the base layer by up to 50% as well as a reduction in maintenance and infill costs. The use of less expensive infill materials is also accomplished by distributing the load to surrounding cells. The dispersing of load/stress on the top infill material is noticed with a reduction of stress on the subgrade, reducing the thickness of base material needed.

BaseLok Geocells are a highly effect product to use for vegetated retaining walls and can be used for both cut and fill applications. The flexible HDPE panels are 6” or 8” tall and will expand about 2.85’ into the wall or as per design requirements. Walls constructed with BaseLok Geocell are further reinforced by using uniaxial geogrid embedded further into the wall every 3-4 layers.  The front strip of the BaseLok GeoCell panels can also be green or tan in color.

BaseLok Geocells can be easily installed around curves, pipes, and a variety of other structures due to their flexible design. The geocells can also be stacked a 90 degree angle or stair-stepped depending on the application. Some popular applications include gravity walls, blast protection walls, vegetated walls, channel wall replacement.

BaseLok Geocell can be installed on slopes as steep as 60 degrees, and on channels with flow velocities exceeding 25 fps (depending on infill material chosen). It is also a very flexible system that will adjust appropriately to the contour of the underlying slope or channel. This flexibility can save time and money by reducing subgrade preparation time.
