Stormwater Management/LID Products
Green Infrastructure and Low Impact Development (LID) have become more common terms used when talking about new developments - especially involving stormwater management systems in urban or city settings. These systems can provide underground detention and/or infiltration of stormwater, include permeable and porous pavements for runoff reduction, take the place of large retention ponds like FocalPoint, assist in storm drain filtration needs and more. Often, underground systems can provide an alternative to surface ponds and allow the square footage above to serve a different purpose such as providing green space for a sports field or a playground. Our systems also offer load support and have been used under roadways and parking garages. Another "space saver" that is highly beneficial in an urban setting where square footage is limited would be a system like our vegetated FocalPoint biofiltration system that can be installed in a much smaller footprint than a traditional bioretention pond and blend in with the surrounding landscaping. When it comes to filtering and removing water off of roadways. There are various permanent inlet protection devices (or mechanical treatment devices) available. Custom solutions have also been designed for to meet the needs of multiple cities on the East Coast. In addition, various permeable paving products can assist in clearing stormwater runoff off the surface of the road quickly.
